Green Dome proposed atop new downtown school central office

Since the legislature is considering the consolidation of Iredell, Cabarrus and Rowan into a single public school district, to abate the unweildy adminstrative drain on tax funds, why even build a new central office for Rowan's? After all, Cabarrus's headquarters will be the new central location, while the downtown Salisbury location will be just another vacant building within two years. Or is it merely the plan for a downtown convention center, after all?

The green dome would really be quite an eye-catcher, I'm told.
