New Dress Code for City Employees: What the hell are they thinking?

Post  Wow! Just Wow! on Fri Jun 29, 2012 9:16 am

Wow! Just Wow! That's all I can say about our workers' new dress code in Salisbury. At one time, the city shirts could be worn with pride. Now, they're about to become the only logo permitted to be worn. Already, city staffers face the anger of residents who oppose all those tax and fee increase, and who are stuck with Fibrant's frequent outtages until their contracts expire. How much more should city workers have to be forced to endure? When this economy really recovers, Salisbury will have to pay alot more, to retain the best employees. But last year, they ditched their best workers in order to keep lower-paid workers. It's the poster child for dysfunction. Management is making decisions that run counter to the goals they seem to say they support.

No

City workers are being sacrificed for the Fibrant debacle. The city budget is being eaten alive by the Fibrant debacle. Now the underlings are forced to wear the new city logo on their baseball caps. Is it a dollar sign? Or an F?

I'm wondering if the new dress code has already started. I saw some blue collar workers today, decked out in city logo t-shirt, with matching "See What's Inside" logo ball caps. The ball caps looked brand new, too.

I suppose it could be alot worse: they could require them all to wear the Fibrant logo on their work apparel. How humiliating would THAT be?

lol!

Perhaps as a show of solidarity with the worker class in this new progressive order, city council and the city managers ought to wear uniforms too. Perhaps during next November's Thanksgiving Day Parade instead of riding in cars, they should be bearing a wooden "F" in celebration of the state of Salisbury's spiraling debt. The few city employees still employed, can be dressed as Roman soldiers, whipping those struggling under the weight of their "F". Behind them will be U-Verse, Windstream, and TWC trucks filled with mocking and jeering taxpayers...if only those visionaries had listened to the uninformed.

I spy with my little eye, something that begins with the letter "F"

What could the "f" mean, Radio Free Salisbury?

"Failed" city leadership?

"F'd-Up" spiraling debt?

Or taxpayers and rate payers who will simply be "F-d" by ever-increasing taxes, fees, and utility bills, in order to pay our way out of the mess the City of Salisbury has gotten us into?

Inquiring minds want to know. Give us the straight scoop. City employees will talk with the Free Press long before they'd trust the Salisbury City Post.

Nice logo, there, Vogrant. Make me a t-shirt, and I'll wear it to the farmer's market next Saturday!

When you've earned the kind of negative image that crime-ridden City of Salisbury has earned, you'll take as many desperate steps as possible to spin it. Just wait for the next fluff-piece to appear as a headline in the Salisbury Post. You'll see what I mean.

2,000 customers have now signed up to Fibrant. Yet, they fail to mention the 35% attrition, which leaves them short of the 2,000 customer base, even though they can fudge, and proclaim to have met their goal.

"Three cheers for Salisbury!" shout the shills.

cheers
