To the Editor and staff of the Rowan Free Press,

About one year ago when the Rowan Free Press first appeared my wife and I could not believe anything written in your newspaper. It was far too alarming. I would like to apologize. Over the past weeks I found out you were telling the truth about Salisbury's city government, Fibrant's actual status, and men and women who had the misfortune of working years for the city and their mistreatment by the city manager's office. I hate to say this but my city has become the city of the Lie. There is no two ways about it. So many of us had the wool shamefully pulled over our eyes. We are listening now and many of us are enraged about what has happened in Salisbury.

Thank you very much for standing up for the truth even when everyone was trying to say you were not. No more. You exemplify the very best in citizenship.

There was a time when, like you Mr. Dillard, alot of us couldn't see the forest for the trees. Salisbury's unvarnished truth will not be found in the traditional newspaper, for a variety of reasons. But the Rowan Free Press will search it down and get to the bottom of it. By the time they break a scandal, like EmpireGate or Contam-Scam, they present not only opinion, but publish the paper trail of evidence upon which their facts are based.

Did you see that there are already 119 'shares' on the breaking de-annexation story on the Rowan Free Press? That means it appeared on 119 unique news feeds in FaceBook, and was seen by thousands. By contrast, the traditional newspaper's online edition is blocked after 5 monthly views unless you go to the trouble of clearing cookies, or paying $99 per year to get the City of Salisbury's propaganda rag, and to be fed the fluff pieces that the City's own PR department feeds them.

Be skeptical, Mr. Dillard. Then follow the documentation behind the Rowan Free Press stories, and draw your on conclusions about the ugly truths of Salisbury.
